He began his career in the sheet metal business concurrent with attending Northeastern University. In 1968, after working for companies such as McNab Engineering, BTU Engineering, Honeywell, and New England Forge, to name a few. Mr. Danis built Damco, Inc. (Danis Manufacturing Company) started in an old mill building in Watertown. His commitment to quality and service quickly earned him a reputation as a leader in the industry.

| Over the next several years, Mr. Danis started three more companies: Fastener Supply Corporation, a distributor of fasteners and electronic supplies (1975); Plastic Molding Manufacturing, Inc., a manufacturer of plastic injection molding (1982); and Cosmed, International, an international skin-care company (1989).
Mr. Danis also became involved in real estate management and development. In 1978, he renovated the mill building he had purchased and which his companies were housed in. His creative renovation of the 5 Bridge Street Mill Building earned him the 1978 Watertown Revitalization Award, sponsored by the Watertown Chamber of Commerce.
With that success, Mr. Danis purchased The Ship Restaurant in Lynnfield, MA in 1987 and developed the land. That property today is a landmark on Route 1 known as The Ship's Wharf housing such well-known businesses as the Christmas Tree Shops and the Weathervane Restaurant. In 1989, George purchased an industrial mill building in Hudson, Ma which houses several office and industrial tenants. He has an active membership in AHEPA, Athens Chapter of Boston since 1969, serving as Vice President and Member of the Board. He also worked as Co-Chair of the 1974 AHEPA Convention in Boston. As a member of the Watertown Greek Church Taxiarchae since 1961, he also served on the Board of Trustees from 1974 to 1976. Mr. Danis is a Sustaining Director of The Gorbachev Foundation of North America. |
